Employment Opportunity – Project Coordinator / Estimator
We are looking for a motivated individual who is eager to learn and join an experienced team of painting professionals.
Required Experience
Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications. Experience in painting or construction is an advantage. Post education in construction or building technology (BCIT or similar is preferred).
Experienced using Excel, and Bluebeam (or similar onscreen takeoff software).
Responsibilities
- Attend site visits to determine existing conditions, site access, and potential project
restrictions.
- Review, understand and analyse drawings and specifications. Determine how architectural, mechanical, electrical and structural systems will affect painting scope.
- Prepare questions and send RFIs to clients to help clarify project requirements.
- Prepare accurate takeoffs and present quantities, and labour & material costs to senior estimators.
- Follow up on submitted proposals.
- Handover projects to Project Management Team
- Track progress of awarded jobs.
- Price additional scopes of work for current projects
- Order material and track hours
- Track invoices
Skills and Qualifications
- Detail oriented
- Able to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines
- Strong understanding of estimating methods and procedures
- Self starter and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- 2 Years of commercial construction experience is an asset
- Valid BC drivers license
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $55,000 - $70,000. Commensurate with experience.
