Our journeyperson electricians play a key role in delivering high-quality installations while supporting apprentices and contributing to efficient, well-run job sites.
The Position – Journeyman Electrician
We are currently seeking a Journeyperson Electrician to join our construction team. This role is well suited to an experienced electrician who takes pride in their work, understands commercial construction environments, and works effectively as part of a crew.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing electrical installations on commercial projects, coordinating with site supervisors, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to code.
Key Responsibilities
The Journeyperson Electrician will be expected to:
- Hold a valid Alberta Journeyperson or Red Seal Electrician Certificate
- Perform electrical installations on commercial construction projects
- Install conduit, wiring, panels, lighting systems, and electrical devices
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and layouts
- Ensure work complies with the Canadian Electrical Code and project requirements
- Work collaboratively with forepersons, project managers, and other trades
- Assist with planning daily tasks and identifying required materials
- Lead by example with respect to safety, workmanship, and professionalism
- Support, teach, and mentor apprentices
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently to meet project schedules
Assets (Preferred Experience)
The following experience is considered an asset:
- Commercial construction experience
- Experience working on tenant improvements and renovations
- Ability to lead small crews or tasks
- Strong understanding of electrical drawings and layouts
- Familiarity with site safety programs and procedures
- WHMIS and CSTS
- First Aid certification
- Fall Arrest and Aerial Work Platform training/certification
Qualifications/Requirements
- Valid Alberta Journeyperson or Red Seal Electrician Certificate
- Reliable transportation to job sites within Calgary and surrounding areas
- Personal hand tools and basic power tools
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Professional attitude and commitment to safety
Compensation
- Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Competitive hourly wage starting at $42.00 per hour, based on experience
- 10% vacation and statutory holiday pay paid on every hour worked
