Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, and maintaining efficient warehouse operations. This role requires familiarity with warehouse management systems, order picking, packaging, and the safe operation of forklifts and reach trucks. Experience in warehouse distribution, e-commerce logistics, and inventory control is highly desirable to support seamless supply chain processes.
Duties
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders using Warehouse Management System (WMS) and MRP systems
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking orders accurately using order pickers and organizing items for loading
- Load and unload freight using forklifts, reach trucks, or other material handling equipment while adhering to safety protocols
- Pack products securely for shipment, ensuring proper labeling and documentation
- Maintain accurate inventory records within AS400 or similar warehouse management software
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure timely processing of shipments and deliveries
- Assist in cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure stock accuracy
- Support order fulfillment processes for e-commerce platforms by efficiently managing order picking and packing tasks
- Ensure the warehouse area remains clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or related roles
- Ability to operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other material handling equipment safely (certification preferred)
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), AS400, MRP systems, and order management software
- Strong understanding of warehouse processes including order picking, packing, load & unload procedures
- Basic math skills for counting inventory and verifying shipments accurately
- Experience with e-commerce logistics is a plus
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely and stand for extended periods during shift hours
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to prevent errors in order fulfillment
- Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors
