Job Summary:
This role provides guidance to the Warehouse Operators for the timing and urgency of completing receipts, picking orders, and loading trucks. This role supports the Site Manager with inventory control and/or production of various products according to established procedures. The Warehouse Coordinator is also responsible for the efficient movement of inbound and outbound carriers and works with dispatch for scheduling when required. In addition, this position not only follows all safety protocols and workplace policies but is a leader of safety in the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Warehouse Supervisor in performing cycle counts
- Report product damages, overages, shortages to customer service team
- Perform customer service requested tasks such as photos, reports, and documentation
- Initiate product set up on new items in the system
- Communicate receipt, order, and inbound information to warehouse team
- Communicate order changes, carrier confirmation or changes and pickup times, and confirmation or changes to warehouse personnel
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment and assist warehouse operations team in following all safety protocols
- Collaborate closely with customer service team and dispatch to ensure smooth operations
- Use the R4 WMS system to facilitate warehouse operations
- Receipt generation – enter required information to start a receipt process such as Owner, Item ID, Qty Expected, etc.
- Order processing - provide order picks to warehouse operators to best facilitate staging, load & shipping of customer-owned goods
- Communicate both receipt and order information to warehouse team to improve workflow efficiency
- Schedule inbound loads with both internal and external carriers
- Coordinate/schedule outbound shipments with Future Transfer dispatch and exterior carriers
- Support Drivers & Warehouse Operators to obtain proper paperwork
- Verify picked orders prior to loading
- Segregate and document damaged products
- Ensure the accuracy of physical inventory through random audits
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized warehouse by implementing daily housekeeping habits
- Follow AWSA Protocols
- Follow FIFO standards as required
- Assist in the training and development of Leads and Warehouse Operators
- Assist in R4 training
- Support other departments/roles as required, IE: Warehouse Operator, etc.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned by the Site Manager
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience in a similar role with responsibilities in inventory control, shipping/receiving or warehouse coordination is preferred
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment
- Demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent verbal, written and electronic communication skills
- Proficient data entry with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, outlook, excel) is an asset
- Demonstrate ability to work safely and to model safe work practices for others
- Team-oriented with a commitment to continuous improvement of process and practices
- Ability to proficiently operate a lift truck
- Able to follow directions and instructions from supervisor effectively
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced workday dealing with internal and external carriers and logistics companies
- Must be able to lift at least 50lbs safely
- Manual dexterity required for operating a desktop computer and related peripherals
- Physical & mental stamina required to handle extended periods of desk-based work
- Physical & mental dexterity to be able to work within the warehouse as required
- Ability to work outside as required
- Manual dexterity to work on various production lines when assigned
- Overtime may be required, particularly during peak or seasonal demand periods
- Follow all company policies and procedures
