Overview
We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our team, responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining sheet metal systems across various construction and restoration projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction-related trades, with proficiency in blueprint reading and schematics. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals to apply their technical skills in a dynamic environment, contributing to high-quality building and restoration projects.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project requirements.
- Measure, cut, shape, and install sheet metal components using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform installation of HVAC ductwork, roofing, siding, and other sheet metal systems in new construction or renovation settings.
- Utilize skills in carpentry, plumbing, welding, caulking, and construction painting as needed for project completion.
- Assist with restoration projects by repairing or replacing damaged sheet metal elements.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience working with hand tools, construction techniques, and carpentry.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings related to sheet metal work.
- Knowledge of welding, caulking, flooring installation, tile laying, and plumbing is highly desirable.
- Prior experience in restoration or construction painting is a plus.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team on diverse projects requiring precision and attention to detail. Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour
