About the Position
Bramshott Spirits is seeking a reliable, physically capable and customer-focused Cashier to join our team in Leask, Saskatchewan.
The successful candidate will be responsible for processing customer purchases, providing excellent customer service, handling payments, verifying identification for alcohol purchases, maintaining the checkout area, and assisting with general store operations.
This position requires the ability to remain active throughout the workday and regularly lift and move merchandise.
Main Duties
- Operate cash registers and point-of-sale (POS) systems to process customer purchases.
- Greet customers and provide friendly and courteous customer service.
- Scan merchandise and accurately process prices and quantities.
- Receive cash, debit, credit card and other approved forms of payment.
- Provide customers with correct change and receipts.
- Verify customer identification and age before completing alcohol purchases, in accordance with applicable laws and store policies.
- Answer customer questions about products, prices and store policies.
- Assist customers in locating products within the store.
- Process refunds, exchanges and other transactions according to store policies.
- Maintain an accurate cash float and balance cash receipts as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe checkout and sales area.
- Report pricing discrepancies, damaged merchandise and other issues to the manager or owner.
- Follow cash-handling, loss-prevention, security, workplace-safety and responsible-sale-of-alcohol procedures.
- Perform other cashier, stocking and customer-service duties as required.
- Bag merchandise or wrap goods at the checkout station.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months of experience as a cashier.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Serve It Right Saskatchewan certification, or willingness to obtain the required certification in accordance with applicable Saskatchewan requirements.
- Strong customer-service and communication skills.
- Ability to handle cash and operate a POS system accurately.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform repetitive lifting, bending, reaching and stocking duties.
- Ability to restock merchandise promptly while maintaining customer service and cashier responsibilities.
- Reliable means of transportation to commute to the workplace or willingness to relocate to the Leask, Saskatchewan area.
- Ability to work 35–40 hours per week, including evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
