Job Summary
Seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant for a newly established Orthopedic Surgery practice, comprised primarily of patients undergoing total hip and knee replacement surgery. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional front desk support, manage electronic medical records, complete Medicare billing, and assist with administrative tasks in a medical office environment. This role is essential in ensuring smooth daily operations, delivering excellent patient service, and maintaining accurate medical documentation. Prior experience with office management systems is highly preferred.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors professionally at the front desk.
- Manage appointments, answer inquiries, and coordinate patient flow
- Maintain and update electronic medical records with accuracy and confidentiality
- Assist with administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and correspondence
- Prepare patient charts for appointments and ensure all necessary documentation is complete
- Handle administrative duties related to appointment confirmations, cancellations, and rescheduling
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Medical Office Assistant in a healthcare setting is desirable
- Proficiency in English and French is considered an asset
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with common orthopedic procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient information
- Office experience including administrative support, data entry, and customer service skills
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, staff, and providers
