Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain sloped and/or flat roofing systems efficiently and correctly.
- Tear off existing roofing down to the sheathing and prepare job sites.
- Apply caulking, sealants, and waterproofing components to ensure system integrity.
- Safely load, unload, and manage heavy roofing materials and equipment.
- Read and interpret basic project specifications to ensure accurate installation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site while collaborating with the crew.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of roofing experience is required.
- Reliability: A strong work ethic, punctuality, and a proven track record of showing up on time.
- Stamina & Safety: Physically capable of heavy lifting (75+ lbs), comfortable working at heights, and fully committed to strict fall protection and safety protocols.
- Flexibility: Understanding that roofing is weather-dependent, with the flexibility to maximize workable days and hours.
- Commute: Ability to reliably get to and from our shop in Lethbridge on time every morning. A valid driver’s license is a considerable asset.
Job Summary
We are seeking experienced Flat and/or Sloped Roofers to join our construction team. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in roofing installation, repair, and maintenance, with the ability to work efficiently on both flat and sloped surfaces. This role requires attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to interpret blueprints and technical instructions. Candidates with construction, carpentry, or handyman experience are encouraged to apply. This position offers full compensation for your skills and expertise.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain flat and sloped roofs using various roofing materials and techniques
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during roofing projects
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications to ensure accurate installation
- Perform heavy lifting of roofing materials, equipment, and supplies as needed
- Apply caulking and sealants to ensure waterproofing integrity of roofing systems
- Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure quality standards are met
- Assist in the preparation of job sites, including setting up scaffolding or safety barriers
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining safety protocols
Requirements
- Proven experience working on flat and/or sloped roofs in a construction environment
- Strong knowledge of roofing materials, tools, and installation techniques
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Experience with carpentry, caulking, or handyman tasks is a plus
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or climbing on roofs
- Familiarity with safety procedures related to roofing work, including fall protection measures
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various weather conditions
- Prior construction experience preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is valued
