Truck Doctor Inc. is currently seeking a skilled Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team.
The Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy-duty trucks and related equipment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team. This role also includes providing guidance, support, and delegation of tasks to apprentices, as well as performing certified commercial vehicle inspections on both trucks and trailers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and write certified commercial vehicle inspections on both commercial trucks and trailers, ensuring compliance with provincial and federal regulations
- Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs on heavy-duty vehicles
- Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, brake services, lubrication, and component replacements
- Perform major repairs and overhauls on engines, transmissions, drivelines, and suspension systems
- Complete detailed repair orders, service notes, and inspection documentation
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, service advisors, and customers
- Manage, mentor, and delegate tasks to apprentices to support quality repairs and skill development
- Utilize diagnostic software and electronic tools to troubleshoot complex issues
- Maintain safe working practices and ensure compliance with all safety standards
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and hazard-free

Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
Experience:
- mechanical: 3 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Class 5 Licence (preferred)
- Journeyman (required)
- Trade Certificate (required)
