Job Overview
Please do not apply if you are looking for a short term fly in -fly out position. This is a one year term position whereby the plumber would be required to move to the community. The employer, a local housing association, covers the cost of the move to the community and provides subsidized housing.
We are seeking a skilled residential maintenance/service Plumber to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and be able to work independently or as part of a team. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining residential plumbing systems such as water pumps, hot water heating, hot water tanks, etc. . A successful Plumber will have a solid understanding of plumbing codes and safety regulations, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures including sinks, toilets, and water heaters.
- Work on forced air and boiler heating systems.
- Perform routine inspections of plumbing systems to identify issues or potential problems.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various plumbing tasks.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure project timelines are met.
- Conduct heavy lifting as necessary for installations and repairs.
- Adhere to safety protocols while working on-site to ensure a safe working environment.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to residntial plumbing systems and components.
- Proficiency in HVAC systems would be an asset.
- Driver of a company vehicle
- Minor electrical knowledge and experience
- Knowledge and experience in working on oil burners, furnaces and boilers would be an asset but notif not knowledgeable, willing to learn.
- Note: the wage includes hourly northern allowance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55.00 per hour
