Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Second South Indian Cook/Helper to join our team in <LOCATION>. The ideal candidate will assist in preparing authentic South Indian cuisine, ensuring high-quality food service, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. This role is essential to delivering exceptional dining experiences to our customers and supporting the overall operations of our restaurant. Prior experience in food preparation and handling within a restaurant or food industry setting is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing traditional South Indian dishes with authentic flavors and techniques
- Support the cooking process by handling ingredients, chopping, and assembling meals
- Ensure all food is prepared according to safety and hygiene standards
- Serve food efficiently to customers, maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including cleaning utensils, appliances, and workstations
- Follow food safety protocols during meal preparation and handling
- Assist with inventory management by organizing ingredients and supplies
- Support the team during busy hours to ensure timely meal service
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service, preferably within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Knowledge of South Indian cuisine and meal preparation techniques is a plus
- Strong understanding of food safety and handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends if required
- Prior kitchen experience or restaurant experience is highly desirable
