Retail Team Member - Courtenay, BC - Full Time, Temporary (June-August)
Monk Office Supply is a family-owned Vancouver Island company that has been in operation for 75 years. Over the years we’ve grown to offer more than commercial office supplies.
We are looking for a temporary Retail Team Member to work in our Courtenay store Full-Time through the summer.
Who you are:
You're a self-starter who enjoys working with people and isn't afraid to take ownership of a task. You're dependable, friendly, and comfortable working on your own while providing great customer service. You can handle basic sales transactions, keep the store looking its best, and help ensure customers leave with a positive experience. Retail experience is an asset, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are even more important.
Your qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Experience working in a retail setting (preferred)
- Available Monday - Friday 10 AM - 4 PM
Your skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable using computers and Point of Sale software and payment terminals;
- Cashing in/out, opening & closing a retail location
- Takes the initiative, is a self-starter
- Enjoy learning new skills and abilities
Some of your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Complete POS transactions
- Receiving product and restocking shelves
- Selling office products and in-stock furniture to walk-in customers
- Taking accurate messages/customer inquiries to share with our Sales Team
- Store opening & closing
- Participate in the maintenance and upkeep of the store; report any issues that may impact the customer experience
- Strive to deliver amazing customer experiences
- Show enthusiasm and a high interest for the job
- Meet Monk Office standards for dress code
