About Thermal Intelligence
Thermal Intelligence is an Edmonton-based manufacturer, and we focus on doing one thing perfectly: building the BaseCamp. It is a rugged, flameless 3-in-1 heater, generator, and light tower.
We handle everything in-house, from design through to final technical assembly. We ship these units across North America directly into civil construction, mining, and Oil & Gas. Our clients operate in extreme conditions where equipment failure simply isn't an option, and we bring that exact same standard of rugged reliability to how we build our team.
The Opportunity
We build exactly one product: The BaseCamp. Because we focus entirely on a single build, the work is steady, focused, and consistent. It’s an environment built for doing the job right and dialing in a process you can be proud of.
We are looking for someone with a strong electrical foundation and a great personality to step up and lead our electrical production team. You don’t need a lifetime of panel-building experience. We want a patient, detail-oriented electrician who genuinely enjoys teaching others and contributing to a tight-knit crew.
You will be on the tools every day. Alongside the build, you’ll guide the team, keep the parts stocked, and update the drawings so the shop runs smoothly.
What Success Looks Like
- Panels are built perfectly every single time, with zero guesswork.
- You stay ahead of purchasing and inventory so the crew always has what they need.
- The assembly area is clean, safe, and highly efficient.
- BOMs, schematics, and diagrams are accurate because you red-line them the moment a better method is found.
Key Responsibilities
- Hands-on wiring, terminating, and inspecting every day. You set the benchmark for speed, wire management, and quality.
- Supervise and train; Set the pace, check their work, and keep the shop floor disciplined.
- Order electrical components, talk directly to suppliers, and flag shortages before they actually hit the floor.
- Troubleshoot production issues (and occasionally field issues). When a drawing is wrong or a process is slow, you figure out the fix and update the documentation.
What You Bring (Required)
- Journeyman Electrician ticket OR an Electrical Engineering Technologist (EET) Diploma with hands-on shop experience.
- 4+ years of relevant experience.
- You’ve had to order parts, track inventory, or deal with suppliers before.
- Clear, straight-shooting communication. You take ownership of your area and don't cut corners.
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs and working a standard shop shift.
- Valid Driver License.
Strong Assets
- Previous experience as a working foreman, lead, or supervisor.
- Experience updating BOMs or red-lining AutoCAD drawings.
- Familiarity with CSA/UL standards.
- Experience with PLCs, engines, or generator controls.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP inventory systems.
