Overview
We are seeking a Sales Manager to lead national sales strategy and develop a high-performing team of National Account Managers across Canada.
This role is responsible for driving revenue growth across major retail and ecommerce customers, including large-scale national accounts representing significant annual revenue. You will set direction, build team capability, and ensure consistent execution through your team.
You will operate as a player-coach, combining leadership oversight with direct ownership of select key accounts. This is a high-impact role requiring strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive results in a complex, cross-functional environment.
What You’ll Do
Sales Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of National Account Managers across Canada
- Set clear expectations and drive accountability to sales targets, KPIs, and execution standards
- Provide ongoing direction to your team on how to grow and develop customer accounts
- Conduct regular business reviews, pipeline discussions, and performance check-ins
- Build team capability through coaching, feedback, and development planning
- Partner with leadership on territory design, resourcing, and hiring
National Sales Strategy & Execution
- Contribute to and execute national sales strategy and annual operating plans
- Translate strategic priorities into clear, actionable plans across accounts and channels
- Ensure alignment across retail and ecommerce channels to drive overall business growth
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer dynamics to inform decisions
- Partner cross-functionally with product, marketing, supply chain, and procurement teams
National & Ecommerce Account Leadership
- Lead and grow select key national and ecommerce accounts
- Guide National Account Managers on account strategy, growth plans, and customer engagement
- Oversee joint business planning, pricing strategy, negotiations, and promotional planning
- Identify opportunities for distribution expansion, category growth, and ecommerce performance
- Ensure consistent and profitable growth across both directly owned and team-managed accounts
Performance, Forecasting & Execution
- Own forecasting accuracy across accounts and overall team performance
- Track and analyze key metrics including revenue, margin, forecast accuracy, and account growth
- Provide regular insights and recommendations to senior leadership
- Ensure disciplined execution of national programs and in-market initiatives
What You Bring
- 7–10+ years of progressive sales experience in consumer goods, retail, or durable goods
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing sales teams, ideally National Account Managers
- Demonstrated ability to set direction and drive execution of account growth strategies across multiple regions
- Strong experience managing national accounts in Canada, including pricing, negotiations, and joint business planning
- Experience managing e-commerce or omnichannel business, with a solid understanding of online retail dynamics
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to interpret data, manage forecasts, and make margin-driven decisions
- Ability to operate in a player-coach capacity, balancing leadership responsibilities with direct account ownership
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills, with experience aligning stakeholders to deliver business results
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence internal teams and external partners
- Ability to manage complexity, balance competing priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Appliance industry experience and knowledge of the Canadian retail landscape is considered a strong asset
