Bright Star Counselling is currently hiring for a child counsellor specialized in working with children under 7 years old with a minimum of a Master degree, registered with a professional college/organization. Experience working within a CBT, play therapy and attachment framework is a must, including knowledge and experience supporting parents with evidenced based parenting strategies. The candidate would join the busy clinic that is currently staffed by 2 registered social worker 17 RCC and 2 OT and 1 SLP. The position is for 3 days a week, including working a Saturday shift, to provide private counselling to children and their families for a variety of childhood anxiety and behavioural issues/disorders. Opportunity to take over a full caseload.
The work is based on referrals that come through the clinic - clinic has an excellent reputation and strong relationships with family doctors, nurses, and community associations with a strong referral base.
This is a split fee position.
Work includes working one weekend shift.
Full time admin support, computer, /printer, office booking software, email and confidential software to record session notes and financials are included.
Access to weekly clinical supervision is included as well as as is being part of weekly peer consultation meetings and in-house trainings.
The ideal candidate has a passion for treating children, creative and a self starter confident treating a variety of childhood mental health issues. This is a great opportunity for a practitioner would likes to work in private practice, without the admin work, advertising and cost of building a counselling practice alone.
