About the Role
We are seeking detail-oriented and reliable Production Technicians to join our cannabis manufacturing team. In this role, you will support end-to-end production, including manufacturing and packaging of cannabis products such as pre-rolls, vape cartridges, gummies, and topicals, while ensuring compliance with Health Canada regulations and Good Production Practices (GPP).
This is a hands-on position ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment and take pride in producing and packaging high-quality, consistent products.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Manufacturing
- Execute manufacturing processes for:
- Pre-roll production (grinding, filling, weighing)
- Vape cartridge filling and assembly
- Edible production (gummies and infused products)
- Topical formulation and batching
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot production equipment
- Accurately complete batch records and production documentation
Packaging Operations
- Perform primary and secondary packaging of finished cannabis products, including:
- Bottling, labeling, and sealing of pre-rolls and gummies
- Packaging vape cartridges and hardware components
- Filling and sealing topical containers
- Case packing and palletizing finished goods
- Ensure packaging accuracy, including lot numbers, SKUs, dates, excise stamps, and regulatory labels
- Conduct visual inspections for product quality, defects, and compliance
- Work with automated and manual packaging equipment
- Maintain packaging line efficiency, minimizing downtime and material waste
Quality & Compliance
- Adhere strictly to Good Production Practices (GPP) and all SOPs
- Ensure compliance with Health Canada Cannabis Regulations, including labeling and traceability requirements
- Perform in-process checks and report deviations immediately
- Maintain accurate documentation for production and packaging activities
Sanitation & Safety
- Clean and sanitize equipment, tools, and work areas
- Follow PPE and hygiene requirements at all times
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Participate in routine sanitation and line clearance processes
Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Packaging, and Warehouse teams
- Communicate issues related to product quality, equipment, or materials
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across production and packaging lines
Qualifications & RequirementsMust-Have
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in manufacturing, packaging, food production, pharmaceuticals, or cannabis
- Strong attention to detail, especially in labeling and compliance
- Ability to follow strict SOPs and documentation requirements
- Comfortable performing repetitive tasks and standing for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
Nice-to-Have
- Previous experience in cannabis production or packaging
- Knowledge of Health Canada GPP and labeling requirements
- Experience with automated packaging lines
- Food Safe Certification or GMP training
Work Environment
- Fast-paced manufacturing and packaging facility
- Exposure to cannabis products (must be legally eligible)
- PPE required (gloves, hairnets, lab coats, safety glasses)
- May involve shift work (days, evenings, weekends)
