We are looking for a self-motivated individual to work in our Sault Ste. Marie office. We are looking for someone with public accounting experience that is able to work independently. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Duties of bookkeeper include:
- Perform bookkeeping tasks, such as bank reconciliations, posting of AR and AP transactions, and general journal entries for bookkeeping clients
- Payroll for bookkeeping clients
- Prepare Payroll Source Deduction, HST, WSIB and EHT remittances for bookkeeping clients
- Preparation of personal tax returns including: entering slips, preparing Statements of Business or Professional Activities (T2125), Statements of Real Estate Rentals (T776)
- Completing T1 Adjustments for clients
- Handling CRA desk audits after the tax season
- Preparing T4 and T5s for review by CPA
- Contacting CRA to assist clients with issues such as late filings, following up on desk audits, etc.
- Receptionist duties
Skills required:
- Proficiency in quickbooks and quickbooks online is mandatory
- Experience in personal tax preparation software is desirable
