Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Shift Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our retail environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a team effectively. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining store standards to drive sales and operational efficiency. Bilingual abilities and prior retail management experience are highly valued to support diverse customer needs and team coordination.
Duties
- Lead and supervise daily store operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to company policies
- Manage team members through training, development, and performance evaluations to foster a motivated and efficient workforce
- Oversee merchandising activities, including pricing strategies and product placement to maximize sales potential
- Handle cashiering duties such as cash handling, POS transactions, and bookkeeping with accuracy and integrity
- Coordinate recruiting efforts for staffing needs, participate in interviewing candidates, and assist with onboarding processes
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with purchasing decisions, and ensure proper stock management
- Implement marketing initiatives to promote store offerings and enhance customer engagement
- Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain high levels of customer service
- Manage scheduling, payroll processing, and administrative tasks related to store operations
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations
Qualifications
- Proven supervisory or team management experience in retail or related fields
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive work environment
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are preferred
- Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling, bookkeeping, and basic math skills
- Experience in merchandising, pricing strategies, sales management, and marketing techniques
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Skilled in interviewing, recruiting, training & development, budgeting, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated capability in customer service excellence and phone etiquette
- Administrative experience including record keeping and report generation is advantageous
