Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Shop Manager to oversee daily operations at our automotive shop.. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, dealership management, and customer service. This role involves managing a team of technicians, ensuring high-quality service, and driving sales through upselling and excellent customer interactions. The Shop Manager will play a key role in maintaining operational efficiency, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the service department, including automotive repairs and maintenance.
- Manage a team of mechanics and technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure all repairs meet quality standards and are completed within specified timeframes.
- Handle customer inquiries, provide exceptional customer service, and address any concerns promptly.
- Oversee sales processes, including upselling services and parts to maximize revenue opportunities.
- Manage cash handling procedures accurately and securely.
- Maintain inventory levels for parts and supplies, placing orders as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Develop and implement operational policies to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dealership management or automotive repair shop supervision.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience as a mechanic is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Demonstrated ability to upsell services and parts effectively.
- Experience with sales techniques and cash handling procedures.
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Dealership experience is highly desirable.
