Position: Café Proprietor, Business Owner and Operator
About the Company: Sunshine Mountain Ford Lincoln is a well-established automotive dealership located in on Shenton Road in Nanaimo (formerly Steve Marshall Ford Lincoln).
We are currently seeking the right person to take on the exciting opportunity of running our in-building café as a separate and autonomous business. Our dealership attracts a steady stream of guests and has a dedicated staff of 97, providing convenient and loyal patrons for the café.

Job Description: As the Café Proprietor, you will have the unique opportunity to operate the café located near our guest lobby. The fully equipped kitchen, complete with utilities, appliances, fire safety measures, and furniture, is ready for you to start immediately. In addition to feeding dealership guests and staff, you could also have the opportunity to provide catering services for events hosted at the dealership.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain necessary certifications, including Foodsafe certification, Business License, and Health Inspection requirements, ensuring compliance at all times.
- Prepare and serve a variety of food items, including breakfast items, smoothies, baked goods, lunch combos, snacks, sodas, chips, and candy.
- Manage inventory, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and maintaining product freshness.
- Establish and manage pricing structures for consistency of regulars.
- Determine the cafe's operating hours in consultation with dealership leadership previously open from 9:45 am to 2:30 pm.
- Work independently or hire and manage a team, if required.
Requirements:
- Strong culinary skills with the ability to create and deliver a consistent food service.
- Previous experience in the food service industry, preferably as a café owner or manager.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and ability to maintain necessary certifications.

Pay: $3,000.00-$6,000.00 per month
