Housekeeping & Laundry Aide

Hours: Casual basis to start with opportunity to apply for part-time when lines become available. Able to work all shifts as assigned, days, evenings, nights, and weekends
Rate of Pay: $23.81 per hour
Qualifications:
- Must have a secondary school diploma.
- A minimum of one year of experience in long-term care would be an asset.
- Enrolled in an environmental services course would be an asset.
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the position, including bending, lifting, and standing for long periods of time.
- Must have an understanding of WHMIS.
Responsibilities:
- Read and follow all instructions related to assignments, schedules, procedures, and department manuals.
- Ensure proper maintenance of the machinery in use as per manual or notify Maintenance for any repairs required.
- Ensure infection control practices are maintained.
- Keep accurate records as required.
- Ensure all aspects of cleaning (vacuuming, dusting, scrubbing, polishing, windows buffing) and laundering (mending, ironing) is completed as per the work assignment.
- Must participate in projects related to cleaning and laundering (windows, resident room specific issues, inventory, etc.).
- Notify the Manager regarding status of supplies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Requirements:
- Must be willing to work all shifts as required.
- Must be available for either housekeeping or laundry as required.
- Must be available for 7.5 hours shifts or less.
