Company Description
Wildwood Therapy is a Queer-owned virtual counselling clinic based in British Columbia that offers support with 2SLGBTQIA+ experiences, PTSD and complex trauma, anxiety and depression, grief including traumatic grief and pet bereavement, relationships, job-related vicarious trauma, psychedelic integration, women’s issues, oppression & bullying, neurodivergence, addiction, and much more.
At Wildwood Therapy, our team uses a trauma-focused and client-centred framework rooted in Feminist Therapy so that our oppressed and marginalized clients can feel more empowered in a healthcare setting. We offer anti-oppressive counselling methods to draw on clients' personal strengths and wisdom, acknowledge systemic and societal factors, and help build clients' confidence to heal and grow together and beyond their time with us.
Job Description
As an EMDR Practitioner with Wildwood Therapy, you will offer trauma-focused therapy to individuals navigating PTSD, complex trauma, and related mental health concerns. You will support clients using evidence-based and client-centered approaches, with EMDR therapy as a primary modality that is grounded in Feminist Therapy. You will be responsible for developing strong therapeutic alliances to create a compassionate and validating space for clients to explore and process their experiences. You bring expertise in supporting marginalized and racialized communities with a deep understanding of how trauma intersects with identity, culture, and systemic barriers.
With preference given to applicants who are EMDRIA certified, you are a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and you bring both technical expertise and deep empathy to your work. Your practice will be neurodivergence-affirming and 2SLGBTQIA+-affirming, ensuring clients of all neurotypes, gender identities, relationship styles, and sexual orientations feel respected, supported, and understood. You are attentive to the unique communication styles, sensory needs, and lived experiences of each client, and you prioritize flexibility, consent, and collaboration throughout the therapeutic process

The successful candidate will have the following:
- Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)
- EMDRIA certified (or currently certifying)
- Master's degree in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year experience as a clinician
- Extensive knowledge of PTSD and complex trauma
- Willing to practice basic Feminist Therapy interventions (can access training within company)
- Ability to keep efficient and strengths-focused session notes or be willing to learn
- Ability to engage with supervision, either privately or at no cost through Wildwood Therapy Inc.
- Provide feedback to the Clinical Director and team members as successes and concerns arise
- Neurodivergence-affirming practice or willing to learn
- 2SLGBTQIA+ affirming practice
- Relationship diversity affirming practice or willing to learn
- Able to practice within anti-racist, disability justice, and fat liberation policies of the company
- Demonstrate an ability to engage in self-care and keep a healthy work-life balance
