Position: Accounting Coordinator:

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Coordinator to strengthen our finance team.
Reporting to the company Accountant, the Accounting Coordinator will play a key role in the day-to-day financial operations of the company. The successful candidate will bring extensive hands-on experience in accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and transaction reconciliation, along with strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online. This role requires accuracy, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: This is a full-time role consisting of 40 hours per week. There is an existing vacancy for this position.
Employment Term: This is a permanent position.
Work Location: On-site at Newmarket, Ontario office.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including processing vendor invoices, verifying approvals, coding expenses, scheduling payments, and resolving vendor inquiries
· Oversee the accounts receivable process, including preparing and issuing customer invoices, monitoring aging reports, following up on outstanding balances, and applying payments
· Perform regular reconciliation of bank accounts and credit card statements, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in QuickBooks Online, ensuring data integrity across all modules
· Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account analysis
· Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for external accountants and auditors
· Process expense reports and ensure compliance with company policies
· Assist with HST/GST filings and other regulatory remittances as required
· Support payroll processing and related reconciliations as needed
· Provide general administrative support to the finance department
Qualifications
· Accounting diploma from a recognized college
· QuickBooks Online (QBO) ProAdvisor certification in good standing
· Minimum 3–5 years of extensive, hands-on experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and transaction reconciliation
· Strong working knowledge of full-cycle accounting principles and practices
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis functions)
· Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
· Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
· Effective written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
· Legally entitled to work in Canada
· A completed or in-progress accounting or CPB (Certified Professional Bookkeeper) designation is an asset.
Compensation
This position offers a salary range of $50,000 to $70,000 annually. While the full range is posted for transparency, our target hiring rate for this role is typically at the midpoint of the range. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's skills, education and relevant experience as they relate to the role.
