We are expanding our existing tech team that works on an established healthcare application that plays a vital role in delivering digital health solutions. We are looking for a Scrum Master to work alongside our Technical Project Manager and ensure disciplined, high-quality execution across our development teams.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in Jira, loves structure and accuracy, and is passionate about ensuring development teams are always aligned, productive, and working on the right priorities.
Position Summary
The Scrum Master is responsible for owning day-to-day delivery execution, with Jira as the single source of truth. This role ensures that all work is clearly defined, properly structured, accurately tracked, and aligned with priorities set by the Technical Project Manager. The Scrum Master will also be responsible for high‑quality delivery across multiple software engineering teams. The role serves as the owner of delivery flow, backlog readiness, and agile process health, partnering closely with Management and Engineering leadership.
The Scrum Master will act as the operational backbone of delivery, working closely with developers, technical leads, and leadership to ensure:
- Work is actionable and properly broken down
- Teams are fully aligned and unblocked
- Jira is always accurate and up to date
- Delivery risks, capacity gaps, and inefficiencies are surfaced early and clearly.
This is a hands-on execution, coordination, and optimization role.
Key Responsibilities
1. Jira Ownership & Backlog Management
- Own Jira as the single source of truth for all work
- Maintain a clear structure: Roadmap → Epics → Stories → Tasks
- Ensure all tickets are complete, actionable, and consistently up to date
- Enforce adherence to defined workflows, ticket hygiene standards, documentation requirements, and testing processes.
- Hold developers accountable for maintaining ticket quality and completeness
- Build and maintain JQL queries, dashboards, and reports
- Ensure backlog readiness for current and upcoming sprints (2–3 ahead)
2. Sprint Execution & Delivery
- Manage sprint execution and progress tracking in Jira
- Ensure teams are working on the right priorities at all times
- Proactively identify, track, and remove blockers impacting delivery
- Monitor sprint health and flag risks early
- Ensure teams meet sprint commitments and highlight risks when they may not
- Support delivery decisions (e.g., GO/NO-GO) with clear, data-backed insight
3. Team Coordination & Alignment
- Act as the day-to-day coordination point for the development team (~30 developers)
- Lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including:
- Daily standups
- Sprint planning and backlog grooming
- Ensure ceremonies are efficient, outcome-driven, and not just routine
- Follow up on action items, blockers, and task progress outside of meetings
- Work with tech leads to ensure work is properly broken down and assigned
- Ensure developers remain aligned with priorities set by the TPM
4. Tech Project Manager Alignment
- Partner closely with the Technical Project Manager to translate priorities into actionable work
- Ensure execution consistently reflects current priorities and direction
- Provide feedback on delivery risks, feasibility, and capacity constraints
5. Capacity & Resource Management
- Track team capacity, utilization, and workload distribution
- Identify gaps, overallocation, and inefficiencies
- Provide data-driven insights from Jira to support resourcing decisions
6. Reporting & Visibility
- Provide regular, structured reporting to management on:
- Sprint progress and delivery status
- Risks, blockers, and delays
- Capacity and utilization
- Maintain Jira dashboards for real-time visibility
- Surface trends, risks, and performance insights early using data
7. Risk & Process Management
- Proactively identify and manage delivery risks (requirements, dependencies, capacity)
- Escalate issues early with clear context and recommended actions
- Own and continuously improve Scrum and delivery processes to increase efficiency and predictability
- Identify recurring delivery issues and drive process improvements
- Promote accountability, consistency, and high-quality execution across teams
Qualifications
- 2–5+ years experience as a Scrum Master, Delivery Manager, or similar role in software development
- Scrum certification (CSM, PSM, etc.)
- Experience working with multiple development teams simultaneously
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum practices in real-world delivery environments
- Excellent organizational and coordination skills
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Highly detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and follow-through

- Background in software development, QA, or technical analysis
- Experience in health-tech or regulated environments

Pay: $90,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
