Position Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic Part-Time Teacher / Academic Tutor who is familiar with the British Columbia Ministry of Education curriculum and graduation requirements.
The successful candidate will provide academic tutoring, support students with BC curriculum courses, and may have opportunities to teach Ontario (OSSD) credit courses after training, depending on qualifications.
This role is ideal for educators who enjoy working with middle school and high school students in a flexible, collaborative learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one or small-group tutoring for BC curriculum courses.
- Support students in Grades 6–12 in subjects such as:
- Mathematics
- Science
- English Language Arts
- Social Studies
- Help students prepare for classroom assessments, graduation requirements, and post-secondary pathways.
- Develop individualized learning plans based on each student’s needs.
- Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with parents and the academic coordinator.
- Participate in curriculum planning and educational workshops when required.
- Qualified candidates may have opportunities to teach Ontario (OSSD) credit courses after orientation and training.
Qualifications
- Valid British Columbia Teaching Certificate preferred.
- Experience teaching or tutoring students within the BC Ministry curriculum.
- Strong understanding of BC Graduation Program requirements.
- Familiarity with BC secondary school assessment practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable using online teaching platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, and VooV Meeting.
- Passionate about mentoring students and helping them build confidence.
- Experience preparing students for university admission is considered an asset.

Compensation
Competitive hourly compensation based on qualifications and teaching experience.
