About the Role
The caller will work directly with an advertising sales team to contact local businesses, introduce the advertising opportunity, qualify prospects, and book appointments for the sales representative. This is not a customer service position. We are looking for someone with strong outbound calling experience who understands how to create interest, handle objections, and book appointments that are clear and properly qualified.
Responsibilities
- Make outbound calls to local businesses and service providers
- Book quality advertising appointments for the sales representative
- Clearly explain the purpose of the call and the advertising opportunity
- Research appropriate business categories and prospects
- Use reliable sources such as Google, Facebook, Chambers of Commerce, BNI, Realtor-related resources, and local business directories
- Maintain accurate call notes and appointment details
- Work closely with the sales representative to support daily and weekly sales goals
- Follow up with prospects as needed
- Stay organized and track progress throughout the day
- Focus on booking strong, relevant appointments that understand why they are being contacted
Requirements
- Previous outbound calling, appointment setting, telemarketing, or advertising sales support experience
- Strong phone presence and clear communication skills
- Ability to handle objections professionally
- Reliable, consistent, and self-motivated
- Comfortable working in a sales-focused environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to research businesses and identify strong prospects
- Must be comfortable making a high volume of calls
- Experience with advertising, real estate, local business marketing, or B2B sales is an asset
