Role Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and experienced full time Lead Hand to join our team. This role will be responsible for overseeing all daily operations ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate loading, unloading, and inventory management. This is a hands-on leadership role that involves supervising yard staff and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead yard staff in daily operations.
- Ensure accurate and safe loading/unloading of vehicles.
- Oversee inventory management, including stock rotation and regular counts.
- Operate forklifts and other equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Maintain yard organization, cleanliness, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Coordinate with store and delivery teams to fulfill customer orders.
- Train and mentor new yard staff.
- Provide excellent customer service when assisting clients in the yard.
Qualifications:
- Previous supervisory experience, preferably in a building materials or lumber yard environment.
- Knowledge of construction materials and products.
- Forklift experience.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Must have reliable transportation and a G class drivers license.
