Position Summary
The Service Manager oversees all Service Department operations to ensure excellent customer satisfaction, efficient workflow, safety compliance, and departmental profitability. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and communication, working closely with all dealership departments.
Key Responsibilities
Service Operations & Customer Satisfaction
- Schedule and assign service work to ensure quality, efficiency, and timely completion
- Communicate repair needs, timelines, and cost estimates clearly to customers
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly
- Ensure all customer, internal, and warranty work orders are completed accurately and profitably
Leadership & Team Development
- Hire, train, mentor, and support service technicians and department staff
- Coordinate ongoing technical training and lead department meetings
- Monitor productivity, recovery rates, and employee performance
- Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment
Facility & Compliance Oversight
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional shop and yard
- Ensure equipment is properly serviced and ready for sale or demo
- Work closely with Parts and Sales to support efficient operations
- Ensure compliance with OH&S, WCB, WHMIS, and labour regulations
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven leadership and people-management experience
- Strong organizational, scheduling, and customer service skills
- Ability to coach, motivate, and develop a diverse team
- Agricultural or heavy equipment service experience “Required”
