Mega Electric Supply Inc. is a fast-growing electrical distributor serving contractors, distributors, and project customers across Canada. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented accounting professional to join our team and support our continued growth.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Prepare and file GST returns accurately and on time.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing.
- Maintain the general ledger and journal entries.
- Work with external accountants during year-end and tax preparation.
- Assist with payroll and other accounting duties when required.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards and company policies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
- Experience preparing financial statements.
- Experience preparing and filing GST returns.
- Strong bookkeeping and full-cycle accounting experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Epicor Prophet 21 is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Able to work independently while supporting a collaborative team.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping including accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, and collections
- Maintain and update financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
- Perform account reconciliations and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and summaries for management review
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Process payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial transactions
- Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards and company policies
Experience
- Proven experience as an accountant or bookkeeper, with a strong background in full-charge bookkeeping
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of payroll processing and related tax regulations
- Experience handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliation, and bank reconciliation processes
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed account analysis and budgeting tasks
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment is preferred but not required

Pay: $23.00-$50.00 per hour
