Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Spray Painter to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying high-quality paint finishes to various products and components, ensuring durability and aesthetic appeal. This role requires mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and familiarity with manufacturing processes. The Spray Painter will work closely with other production staff to meet quality standards and production deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking as needed
- Operate spray painting equipment with precision to apply coatings evenly across different parts and assemblies
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to assist in surface preparation and finishing processes
- Utilize cranes, forklifts, or other lifting devices to move heavy or bulky items safely
- Perform quality inspections to ensure paint coverage meets specifications and standards
- Maintain a clean work area and ensure all safety protocols are followed during operation
- Assist with assembly or machining tasks as required within the manufacturing process
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow and reduce waste
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge with experience in machining, assembly, or welding is highly desirable
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment effectively and safely
- Ability to operate cranes and forklifts for material handling
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to coating thickness and dimensions
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency
- Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes
- Good understanding of safety procedures in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
