Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanic / Welder / Fabricator to join our team. This position is responsible for fabricating, welding, repairing, and assembling metal components and equipment in support of production, maintenance, and project work.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, experienced in welding and fabrication, able to read drawings and measurements accurately, and committed to working safely and efficiently in a fast-paced industrial environment. Must be a self starter and motivated with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate, weld, repair, and assemble metal parts, equipment, and structures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, and measurements.
- Perform welding using MIG, TIG, ARC, or other applicable processes.
- Cut, grind, fit, bend, layout, and finish metal components to required specifications.
- Operate fabrication tools and equipment such as saws, drills, grinders, brakes, shears, and other shop tools.
- Inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications.
- Assist with repairs and modifications to machinery, guards, brackets, frames, and related components.
- Support installation, maintenance, and project work as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, and other team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a welder and fabricator.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, measurements, and work instructions.
- Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Physically able to perform job duties, including lifting, bending, standing, climbing, and working in industrial environments.
Experience Requirements
- Welding certification or trade training is must.
- Experience in a MRF (Material Recovery Facility), manufacturing, or industrial environment maintenance is a must.
- Experience with custom fabrication and equipment repair.
- Forklift, scissor lift, or overhead crane experience is an asset.
- Physically fit & able to negotiate inclines, stairs and ladders able to perform physically demanding activities while working in all types of extreme hot and cold environments, both indoors and outdoors. The job requires bending, kneeling, crawling, stooping, and standing for long periods of time. Must be physically able to push, pull, and lift 50 lbs. Working in conditions may include exposure to noise, dust and temperature changes.

Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive hourly wage
- Overtime pay after 44 hours
Pay: $32.00-$44.00 per hour
