Lead Hand – CNC Machinist (Weekend Shift Night Shift)
We are seeking an experienced CNC Lead Hand for a weekend shift role. This position is ideal for a highly skilled machinist who can lead by example, support operators, and ensure production targets and quality standards are consistently met.
Schedule:
Friday to Sunday – 12-hour shifts (paid for 40 hours/weekend)
Compensation:
Salary negotiable based on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a team of operators and machinists during the weekend shift
- Set up, operate, and program Mazak and Doosan CNC lathes and mills
- Strong focus on Mazatrol and Fanuc programming
- Ensure all jobs are properly set up with complete documentation, tooling, and programs ready for production
- Troubleshoot machining and process issues in real time
- Monitor production output, efficiency, and quality throughout the shift
- Maintain and enforce setup sheets, work instructions, and tooling standards
- Ensure inspection requirements are followed and records are properly maintained
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Coordinate with management to ensure smooth shift handovers and production flow
- Assist with training and development of operators and junior machinists
Requirements:
- 7+ years CNC machining experience (setup and programming required)
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a machine shop environment
- Strong technical knowledge of CNC processes, tooling, and applications
- High-level proficiency in Mazatrol and Fanuc controls
- Ability to manage multiple machines, priorities, and personnel effectively
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
