We produce the Vancouver International Boat Show, as well as a newly developed Fall in-water boat show. The Vancouver International Boat Show is the largest boat show in Western Canada. We are committed to excellence and consumed with producing shows that deliver strong results for our exhibitors and the best experiences for consumers. Overview:
Responsible for the planning, organization, revenue, and execution of the Vancouver Boat Show & Fall Show.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the show’s production together with a high-performance team
- Profit and loss accountability, including budget development and management
- Primary focus and responsibility of exhibit space sales, which includes bulk and booth categories
- Formulate and implement sales strategies
- Develop new prospects as well as maintaining existing customers
- Manage space allocation, exhibitor communication and relationships, including conflict resolution
- Work with the team on identifying sponsors and revenue opportunities
- Contribute to the development and execution of the business plan and marketing plan for the show
- Work with the Executive Director on show suppliers, marketing needs, venue collaboration
- Provide support for exhibitors and attendees on the show’s digital event platform
- Work cooperatively with industry groups and associations towards shared goals benefiting recreational boating in British Columbia
- Administrative and logistics activities as required
Membership Sales
- Work with Boating BC team to identify member prospects
- Sell Memberships through direct marketing contacts & industry events
- Help identify & promote member revenue opportunities such as digital media advertising
Education & Experience:
- Post secondary education required
- A minimum of 5-8 years sales and event management experience
- Boating/outdoor lifestyle is essential
- CRM experience considered an asset
- Advanced knowledge and working experience of all Microsoft Office applications

- Must reside in BC, vicinity of Metro Vancouver preferred
- Some local travel in BC
- The role requires a varying workload, depending on the time of year. When not in peak show season, responsibilities will turn to membership sales and support. The position can be structured as an employment position or annual contract for an independent contractor. The successful candidate can work from a home office and has office space at Boating BC’s offices located in Richmond.
Pay: $75,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
