Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Bar Manager to support the daily operations of our bustling hospitality venue. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for the food and beverage industry, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising staff, managing bar and restaurant operations, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. The Assistant Bar Manager will play a key role in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere while overseeing food preparation, serving, and overall team management.
Duties
- Assist in supervising daily restaurant and bar operations, ensuring smooth service flow
- Oversee food preparation and ensure adherence to food safety and handling standards
- Manage POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
- Supervise and train staff members, including interviewing potential team members
- Coordinate food service activities, including serving and hospitality duties
- Monitor kitchen operations, including cooking, food presentation, and cleanliness
- Lead team management efforts to foster a positive work environment
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and safety protocols in all areas of operation
- Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining stock levels
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure high satisfaction levels
Skills
- Proven experience in restaurant management, supervising teams, or hospitality leadership
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Experience with POS systems such as Micros POS; cash handling expertise required
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on hospitality excellence
- Ability to lead and motivate staff, including interviewing and team management skills
- Background in food service or the food industry; restaurant or hotel experience preferred
- Knowledge of kitchen operations, food handling procedures, and restaurant experience
- Leadership qualities with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Strong communication skills to coordinate between front-of-house and kitchen staff
- Experience with barista duties or bar management is a plus
