Overview
Gibson Welding Ltd. is seeking dedicated and skilled Class 1A Drivers to join our growing team in Weyburn, Saskatchewan.
We are a family owned and operated established oilfield service provider and offer a stable and fast paced work environment.
What you'll do:
- Safely operate a Class 1A vehicle to transport and deliver various materials and equipment to customer sites and company locations in and around Weyburn, SK.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of the semi and trailer, ensuring all components are functioning correctly and safely.
- Conduct pre job hazard assessments thoroughly detailing possible hazards of the proposed job.
- Adhere to all applicable traffic laws, regulations, and company safety policies.
- Secure loads properly using appropriate methods to prevent damage or shifting during transit.
- Skillfully maneuver the semi in diverse settings, including various oilfield locations throughout Southeast Saskatchewan.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with dispatch, site personnel, and customers
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance and report any mechanical issues promptly to our In House Mechanic or upper management.
- Follow all company safety procedures and contribute to a positive safety culture.
What you bring:
- Valid Class 1A Driver's License required.
- A strong commitment to safety and adherence to all safety regulations.
- Excellent driving skills and a clean driving abstract.
- Ability to perform pre-trip inspections thoroughly.
- Ability to secure loads properly and safely.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Strong work ethic and a reliable attendance record.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with the job, including some lifting and securing of materials.
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time.
Bonus points if you currently reside in Southeast Saskatchewan or have:
- Previous oilfield work experience.
- Specific certifications related to semi operations.
- Knowledge of the Weyburn and surrounding areas.
- updated required safety tickets (first aid, H2S Alive, CSO, etc.)
