Job Summary
Sterling House is seeking a compassionate, friendly, and dedicated Overnight Healthcare Aide to join our team. We are looking for an individual who takes pride in caring for others and is committed to providing exceptional support to our residents during overnight hours.
This role is focused on ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of residents by providing assistance when needed, responding to emergencies, monitoring the building, and serving as the primary point of contact overnight. The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, calm under pressure, and passionate about helping seniors maintain their independence while feeling supported and cared for.
HOURS: Fridays & Saturdays 10:30pm to 7:00am
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance and support to residents as needed throughout the night.
- Conduct routine wellness and safety checks on residents.
- Respond promptly and professionally to resident requests and concerns.
- Monitor the building to ensure a safe and secure environment.
- Answer and direct incoming telephone calls.
- Manage front entrance access and greet visitors or emergency personnel as required.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations and contact emergency services when necessary.
- Complete incident reports and maintain accurate documentation.
- Communicate important information to management and incoming staff during shift transitions.
- Assist residents with mobility, comfort, and non-medical support as required.
- Observe and report changes in resident condition, behavior, or well-being.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Perform light housekeeping or administrative duties related to resident care and building operations as assigned.
Qualifications
- Healthcare Aide Certificate or equivalent healthcare experience preferred.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Genuine passion for working with seniors and supporting their quality of life.
- Criminal Record Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check required.
