Contract Registered Child/Youth Social Worker/Psychotherapist

Contract, part-time to full-time, available a minimum of 15 hours per week (10 hours required in person)

Registration is required with the CRPO or OCSWSSW

Ability to deliver counselling safely and competently in another language, French, Arabic, Punjabi, Hindu, an asset
ABOUT THE PRACTICE:
Mindful Path Counselling opened its doors in 2017. Since then, this privately owned practice has grown into a group practice located in Brantford/Brant County, Simcoe/Norfolk, Toronto, and Six NationsOntario. We offer child/youth, individual, couples/marriage/relationship(s), family, and group counselling. Our team includes registered social workers and psychotherapists with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience. With consistent incoming referrals, we’re excited to share that we are looking to expand again.
OBJECTIVES:
We are looking for a registered child/youth Social Worker or Registered Psychotherapist who are enthusiastic, dynamic, and motivated individuals to join an innovative and busy practice. Our services are being offered In-person, via virtual video, phone, animal-assisted, and walk-n-talk. The use of our hybrid services allows you, the independent contractor, to maintain autonomy and flexibility in your schedule. You will deliver services in accordance with Mindful Path Counselling, your respective college, and industry professional practice standards.
- Provide counselling services per the OCSWSSW/CRPO utilizing clinical skills from various therapeutic modalities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Access to Jane an electronic software, ideally hold experience with practice management software.
- Create and maintain healthy therapeutic relationships with clients, peer contract social workers/psychotherapists, and the owner.
- Ensure ethical standards are abided by and sound clinical judgment is used, utilize consultation with the director or group supervisor as needed.
- Internal navigation and/or facilitating access to other health care providers and community organizations in collaborative care.
- Mindful Path Counselling will funnel referrals to contract staff, as well you will advertise your services through Psychology Today. The opportunity to build your own referral network in addition to referrals provided by the practice.
- Administrative support through referrals, bookings, website, and social media.
- Carry minimum personal liability insurance of $ 5 million dollars.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of three-years counselling experience with a minimum educational background of a Master of Social Work degree/Master of Divinity-Social Work track/Master of Arts and Counselling Psychotherapy/Ph.D. Social Work/Ph.D. of Arts and Counselling Psychotherapy degree.
- The ability to practice the controlled act of social work/psychotherapy.
- Proof of registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers (OCSWSSW) or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)
- Post-graduate professional development of an asset in any one or more of the following modalities: Directive Play Therapy, Play Centred Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focussed Couples Therapy (EFCT), Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Brief Solution Focused (BSF), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), The Gottman Method, and Relational Family Therapy an asset.
- Previous experience working with a wide range of clientele; children, youth, adults, older adults, couples, families, and group work.
- Experience and expertise working with specialized groups: LGBTQ, racialized, international, Indigenous, post-secondary students, faith orientations, veterans, first responders, and chronic immune disorders.
- Engage in an anti-oppressive practice while working to build assessment, and treatment plans working with clients.
- Be able to conduct both short-term and ongoing files.
- Ability to maintain accurate and complete clinical files with thorough case notes.
- The ability to engage in a self-reflexive practice to work from a growth mindset.
- Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Personal Health Information and Privacy Act (PHIPA), Health Care Consent Act, Substitute Decision Makers Act, Child and Family Service Act, Access for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, and the Regulated Health Professionals Act.
- Engage and participate in our active social media accounts through posts, reels, IGTV, and stories.
- Interest in continued professional development and continuing education with opportunities for group discounts with your peer contract providers.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, practice management software, and electronic medical records.
- Flexibility in working hours is required, with a mix of days, evenings, and/or weekends.
- Willing to work in a hybrid model with in-person and virtual hours.
- Proof of a Vulnerable Sector Check and CAS Declaration
