Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fitter/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. This role involves fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components to meet project specifications and safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency in various welding techniques, and the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in construction, manufacturing, or related fields to contribute to complex projects involving ductwork, structural steel, and custom fabrications.
Duties
- Perform MIG welding on various metals according to detailed blueprints and schematics
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints for fabrication projects
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments to ensure precise fabrication
- Operate plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment effectively
- Rigging and lifting heavy components using cranes or forklifts safely and efficiently
- Fabricate ductwork, structural supports, or custom assemblies as specified in project plans
- Assist with machining operations as needed for component fitting and assembly
- Conduct quality inspections of welds and fabricated parts to ensure compliance with standards
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment following safety protocols
Experience
- Proven experience in welding (MIG) within manufacturing or construction environments
- Mechanical knowledge of assembly processes and fabrication techniques
- Familiarity with crane operation, rigging, and forklift use is preferred
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Experience with plasma cutting, press brake machines, hand tools, power tools, calipers, and basic math skills required
- Knowledge of schematics related to ductwork or structural fabrication is a plus
- Prior experience in construction or manufacturing industries involving assembly or ductwork is desirable
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to welding and heavy equipment operation
