Dutchak Scrap Metal is currently seeking a candidate to fill the role of AZ and/or DZ Driver to support our Thunder Bay operations. This role will primarily be responsible for transportation services. The successful candidate must have a respectful and responsible attitude and be able to work as part of a team. The candidate must also possess good communication skills.
Overview of Responsibilities:
- Operate and drive roll off truck, lugger truck, and/or road tractor
- Transport goods and materials in Thunder Bay as well as Northwestern Ontario.
- Ensure safety and security of cargo
- Receive and relay information in a timely manner to Thunder Bay Yard
- Oversee condition of vehicle, monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness
- Inspect tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment as required to ensure working order
- Properly complete and maintain driver logbooks, bills of lading, and complete inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip).
Overview of Qualifications:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Driver's License (Class A or D), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
Hours of Work:
Candidate must be available to work Monday - Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. This is considered a full time, permanent position. Hours of work may be subject to change and are largely dependent on the operational requirements of Dutchak Scrap Metal.
