McMan is hiring a Youth Mentor for the Youth Development and Resiliency Program based in Lethbridge.
About the Position:
Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor and in conjunction with the program team, the Youth Mentor is responsible for providing case management to children/youth or families on an individual basis. This position is responsible for overall case management, collaboration with community partners and support to create or strengthen relationships with existing natural support networks. The caseload of this position may consist of families, children/youth or a combination based on programming needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide case management and service delivery to youth and families on an individual and group basis.
- Work as a liaison between families and service providers.
- Work from a strength-based and harm reduction lens. Provide case management services that are person-centred, based in family preservation philosophies, and respect the diverse needs of the service participants.
- Plan and supervise small groups for youth and families.
- Attend and participate in local community events on behalf of the agency to strengthen community partnerships and increase program visibility.

Requirements & Qualifications:
- Degree/Diploma in Human Services, with related experience in the Human Services field and a member of good standing with the relevant professional association, if applicable. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Previous experience in youth care or family support field.
- Strong leadership, communication, and administrative skills.
- Knowledge of existing community resources & experience in building relationships with those resources.
- Friendly, positive, and professional demeanor.
- Demonstrate professionalism within all aspects of employment, with attention to accuracy and detail.
- Demonstrate an ability to work effectively in a team.
- Microsoft Office abilities (SharePoint, One Drive, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Current Standard First Aid CPR Level C Certificate or CSA Standard Z1210-17 Intermediate First Aid Certificate
- Clear Child Intervention Record Check, dated within the past six months
- Clear Police Information Check with vulnerable sector, dated within past six months.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License, 3-year non-commercial Driver’s Abstract, and use of reliable vehicle with $2M Third Party Liability insurance.
