Overview
James Auto Group is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced HR & Payroll Administrator to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintaining compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting overall financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll management, accounting software, and human resources systems, with excellent data entry and analysis skills. Duties
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing using systems
- Ensure accurate data entry related to employee hours, benefits, deductions, and tax information
- Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare journal entries for payroll transactions
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws
- Administer employee benefits programs and assist with benefits enrollment and administration
- Perform account reconciliation related to payroll expenses and benefits
- Support accounts payable and receivable functions as needed
- Assist with governmental reporting requirements and non-profit accounting procedures if applicable
- Conduct regular analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors
- Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions for audit purposes
- Collaborate with human resources on HRIS updates and employee information management
Skills
- Proficiency in payroll management software
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits, and general ledger reconciliation
- Experience with accounting software
- Familiarity with benefits administration processes and HRIS systems
- Ability to perform detailed data entry with high accuracy (10 key typing skills)
- Understanding of tax regulations related to payroll processing and reporting
- Excellent analysis skills for reviewing financial data and identifying discrepancies
- Knowledge of governmental accounting standards for non-profit organizations or public sector entities is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
