Depot Attendant - Job Description
Location: St Thomas Enviro Depot (330 S Edgeware Rd, St Thomas, ON)
Employment Type: Seasonal Contract March 14th - December 14th, 2026– Part-Time Saturday and Sunday
Rate: $17.60 per hour
Job Summary
The Depot Attendant plays a key role in providing a safe, efficient, and welcoming experience for all clients visiting the depot. This position is responsible for greeting customers, assessing incoming loads, and directing clients to the appropriate disposal areas within the yard. The Depot Attendant must remain alert at all times, ensuring safety protocols are followed while maintaining a high standard of customer service in a busy outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities

Greet and assist clients in a professional and courteous manner

Assess incoming materials and direct clients to the correct unloading locations

Ensure all safety rules and procedures are followed by clients and staff

Monitor yard activity to maintain a safe and orderly work environment

Provide clear verbal directions and guidance to customers

Perform general site maintenance duties, including sweeping and material handling

Work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team

Adapt quickly to changing conditions and priorities throughout the day
Qualifications & Skills

Enjoys working outdoors in all weather conditions

Minimum of two (2) years of proven customer service experience

Strong understanding of customer service principles and best practices

Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and a strong work ethic

Confident, consistent, and decisive with strong interpersonal skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

Strong time management and organizational skills

Safety-conscious and aware of surroundings at all times

Valid driver’s license is considered an asset
Work Environment
This position is performed primarily outdoors and involves regular exposure to moving vehicles (small and large), odors, airborne particles, and varying weather conditions. Noise levels range from moderate to high. Candidates must be comfortable working in rain or shine, in both hot and cold conditions.

Unload trailers from time to time.
