Seasonal · May Training Start · June–End of December · Mid & South Vancouver Island.
Let’s be real. This might be the best summer job on Vancouver Island.
You have to be available for all the markets- and we are adding more markets You must have a car
You’ll spend your days outside at some of the island’s most-loved farmers markets, handing people something delicious and watching their faces light up. No cubicle. No uniform. Just sunshine, good music, and a product that basically sells itself if you know what you’re doing.
We make Smoky Truffle olives and Cowboy Candy, cold-smoked and craft-cured olive products that stop people in their tracks. We’re growing fast, new markets are being added every week, and we need someone who can run a booth like a pro and consistently put up decent numbers.
What you’ll actually be doing:
Setting up and running a full farmers market booth solo. Sampling, engaging, educating, upselling, and closing repeatedly through a full market day. Handling cash and Square payments accurately. Loading and transporting your full setup. Tearing down at the end of the day and leaving clean.
Markets include Sidney Night Market, Peninsula, Goldstream, Pkols, Esquimalt, Ladysmith, SoberFest, SunFest, Cook St Block Party, and more being confirmed right now. you wont have to do them all but will be assigned to at least 2 -3 per week .
The season runs through to the end of December and includes some of the island’s best Christmas and holiday markets, which are our busiest and highest-revenue events of the year. Some weeks are 3 to 5 markets. South and mid-Island travel is part of the role.
You’re the right person if:
✅ You have experience in sales , or doing busy farmers markets, trade shows, or Christmas markets.
✅ You’re genuinely outgoing. Not “I can be outgoing.” You naturally grab people’s attention and enjoy doing it.
✅ You’re are able to lift 30 pounds Setup involves tent weights, tables, coolers, and product.
✅ You’re trustworthy. You’ll be handling cash and running a float on your own.
✅ You’re driven. A slow market day is a skill problem, not a luck problem. You know that.
✅ You have a vehicle that fits a folded 6-ft table, a cooler, a tent, weights, and product. A truck is ideal but not required. If it fits, it works.
Nice to have (not required):
Food Safe certification. Square experience. Previous specialty food sales background.
What we offer:
$26/hour plus gas, paid for every hour including training and setup/teardown
