Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Heavy Equipment Mechanic Apprentice to join our team. This apprenticeship provides hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy machinery, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm equipment. Duties
- Assist with the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Learn to perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to support repairs and assembly tasks
- Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals for various machinery systems
- Support the disassembly and reassembly of mechanical components using appropriate tools
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with experienced mechanics to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
- Participate in training sessions on dealership standards, safety protocols, and equipment operation
Qualifications
- Strong interest in heavy equipment maintenance, repair, and industrial systems
- Basic mechanical knowledge or experience with automotive repair is preferred
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and schematics is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment under supervision
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and willingness to learn from experienced professionals
- Prior experience or exposure to heavy equipment or farm machinery is a plus
- Diploma in Heavy Equipment, Truck & Transport or Agriculture Equipment Repair is considered an asset
- Ability to work safely in an industrial environment with adherence to safety protocols
Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
