Maintenance Job Description:
Purpose of this Position:
The Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining and repairing the property and assets that are essential to Ste. Anne’s ability to provide a world-class Four-Diamond spa experience. This role requires some technical and mechanical skills, some proficiency in chemistry, high attention to detail, and regular customer service.
Job Summary:
- Full-time, permanent position
- Wage: $22 - 24 per hour
- Paid bi-weekly
Responsibilities:
1. Maintenance of pools and hot tubs
- Open the pool and balance the water with appropriate chemicals at correct ratios (pH, alkalinity, LL).
- Maintain all logs and complete checklists, ensuring accuracy and legibility.
- Notify the manager if you notice something unusual with the pools, hot tubs or log sheets.
- Clean and disinfect all surfaces.
- Replenish chemicals and test equipment.
- Update and keep the pool and hot tub operations to current configurations and legislative safety requirements.
2. Regular maintenance tasks
- Closely monitor the Synology Maintenance Chat for incoming guest and employee requests and complaints.
- Respond to guest and employee complaints regarding equipment, facilities and rooms in a polite and timely manner.
- Dispose of garbage, recycling, hazardous waste and other products through appropriate channels.
- Perform regular checks and preventative measures to control the rodent and pest populations.
- Check and secure doors, windows, utility equipment and property.
- Assist staff with setting up, moving and removing furniture and fixtures, such as microwaves, fridges, mattresses, and other equipment as required.
- Assist staff or guests with setting up meeting rooms for programs and events.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists as assigned by Manager.
3. Minor electrical, plumbing and renovation repairs, as soon as deficiencies are noted
- Perform minor electrical repairs, for equipment such as heating, air-cooling, ventilation, lightbulbs, and light fixtures.
- Perform minor plumbing repairs, such as unclogging drains, leaking taps, and replacing toilets.
- Perform minor renovation repairs, such as broken windows, window blinds and curtains, door repairs, lock repairs, and paint touch-ups.
- May perform some of the less technical building maintenance tasks as requested.
- Respond to emergency building needs such as loss of heat, air conditioning or power immediately.
Job Requirements:
- Capable of lifting 65 lbs on a regular basis.
- Physical stamina to lift, carry, load and unload heavy objects
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Able to squat, kneel, bend, twist and reach overhead
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid G Driver’s License
- Experience with pools/hot tubs in a commercial setting is an asset
- Experience with facility maintenance is preferred
- Demonstrates high reliability, responsibility, and integrity
