Head Chef / Kitchen Manager – Solena Brunch & Bar

About Solena
Solena Brunch & Bar is an exciting new brunch destination opening in Toronto's Corso Italia neighbourhood. We are focused on elevated breakfast, brunch, artisan coffee, fresh ingredients, and exceptional guest experiences in a modern and energetic atmosphere.
We're looking for a passionate Head Chef who wants to help build a kitchen from the ground up and grow with our company.
Responsibilities
- Lead all daily kitchen operations
- Prepare and execute high-quality brunch dishes with consistency
- Train, coach and supervise kitchen staff
- Maintain food quality and presentation standards
- Manage food preparation, ordering and inventory
- Control food costs and minimize waste
- Develop prep schedules and kitchen systems
- Ensure all health, food safety and sanitation standards are followed
- Work closely with ownership to improve menu items and seasonal features
- Maintain a clean, organized and efficient kitchen
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager
- Strong breakfast and brunch experience is highly preferred
- Experience opening a new restaurant is considered a major asset
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of inventory management and food costing
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
- Food Handler Certification
- Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
