We’re looking for a dedicated Cook to join our kitchen team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on, from-scratch food preparation, working with fresh, local ingredients, and being part of a small, passionate crew.
Schedule: 32-40 hrs/week, weekends required, shifts will be 8:00-4:30pm. Contract beginning April 1, 2026.
Hourly Rate: $18.00 – $19.00 per hour + tips based on experience
- Prepare daily mise en place for service using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, including vegetable prep, protein portioning, dressings, stocks, soups, and salads
- Batch prep and package house-made foods for retail and market sales, maintaining freshness and presentation standards
- Execute service independently or collaboratively, preparing made-to-order sandwiches, salads, and soups
- Follow written recipes while respecting seasonal variations to ensure consistency and quality
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and uphold all food safety, sanitation, and storage practices
- Contribute to a cooperative kitchen environment, including dishwashing and shared closing tasks
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow directions and written recipes accurately
- Basic cooking knowledge & knife skills
- Understanding of safe food handling and storage practices
- 1–2 years of experience in kitchen or batch prep preferred
- Strong sense of consistency and attention to detail
- A passion for local food and sustainable practices
- Comfort working both independently and as part of a small, dedicated team
- Experience with large-quantity preparation
