Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Infant and Toddler Educator to join our Infant and Toddler Program at Weave Childcare Centre, located at 3905 Norland Ave, Burnaby.
This is a maternity leave coverage position within a collaborative and supportive team. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education and committed to creating a nurturing, responsive, and inclusive environment where young children can grow and thrive.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, caring, and responsive supervision for infants and toddlers, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate, play-based activities that support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development.
- Adapt activities and support strategies to meet the needs of children with diverse abilities, interests, and learning styles.
- Build warm and trusting relationships with children and families through consistent communication and respectful care practices.
- Work collaboratively with team members to maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Keep clear and accurate documentation of children’s learning, behaviour, development, and daily routines.
- Support children with daily care routines, including meals, diapering/toileting, nap time, transitions, and outdoor play.
- Ensure health, safety, and sanitation protocols are consistently followed to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
- Follow centre policies, licensing requirements, and professional standards at all times.
Qualifications Required
- Valid Infant & Toddler Educator License to Practice in British Columbia
- Current Childcare First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Clear Criminal Record Check through the Ministry of Public Safety
- Proof of immunizations as required by licensing regulations
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an Infant and Toddler classroom or similar early learning setting
- Strong knowledge of responsive caregiving, attachment-based practice, and child-led learning approaches
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong communication skills with children, families, and colleagues
- Patience, empathy, flexibility, and a positive attitude
- A genuine passion for supporting young children’s growth and development in a nurturing, play-based environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.50-$30.00 per hour
