Duties
- Greet customers warmly and listen carefully to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Prepare detailed auto estimates for repairs and maintenance using dealership or shop management software
- Communicate repair recommendations clearly, explaining necessary services such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire service, transmissions, suspension, alignments, shocks & struts, diesel engine repair, air brake systems, and auto body repairs
- Upsell additional services by highlighting benefits that enhance vehicle safety, performance, and longevity
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain precise records of all service write-ups and sales
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and promote repeat business
Experience
- Prior Canadian Tire, independent shops & dealership experience or auto service management background is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair procedures including transmissions, oil changes, brake systems, suspension components, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, air brakes, alignments, and auto body repairs
- Proven ability in upselling services while maintaining integrity and customer trust
- Experience in auto estimating software and service writing is advantageous
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly yet professional demeanor
- Familiarity with mechanic work or service technician experience is a plus for understanding technical aspects of vehicle repairs
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and manage multiple customer interactions efficiently
