POSITION: Social Worker 1 - Clinical Oversight Service (COS)
JOB SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will be working with child/youth who meet the Ministry definition of Complex Special Needs to specifically oversee the cases receiving Complex Special Needs (CSN) funding. The service is community based and as such services are offered in homes, in community and in office. The Social Worker/Registered Therapist 1 (Clinical Oversight) is primarily responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of behaviour implementation plans, and behaviour skills training plans. Other duties include parent training, training and oversight of in-home workers, creation of visual supports, and data collection and analysis. Collaboration is an integral part of the work in the service there will be collaboration with children/youth, parents/caregivers/guardians, as well as, community partners with each case. This position is a thirty-five (35) hour work week using flex time for after hours appointments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S.W., or related discipline;
- Registered as a Social Worker with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or Registered as a Psychotherapist with the College of Psychotherapists;
- 3 -4 years relevant clinical experience
- Experience and / or training in evidence-based therapeutic interventions;
- The ability to easily provide services through virtual platforms (i.e. email, text, online counselling) would be considered an asset. Otherwise, a solid understanding of the various forms of virtual care and the associated clinical and privacy responsibilities would be an asset.
- Possess strong communication and organizational skills;
- Have completed a Vulnerable Sector Check;
- Bilingual in (French and English) is preferred;
- Experience working with the Indigenous population is considered asset;
- Valid driver’s license, have access to a personal vehicle, and be insurable to drive in Ontario.
